2 persons including a woman booked for blackmailing businessman
Puttur : The Sampya Rural Police have registered cases against two persons including a woman on the charges of blackmailing a businessman and his family by sending an obscene video relating to him on Whatsapp and demanding Rs 10 lakh cash from him.
The obscene video was sent to the mobile of Kammady Ibrahim Haji, President of Puttur Taluk Muslim Samyukta Jamaat by the accused. On viewing the video, the family realised that the woman seen in the video was Jubaida of Sampya and that she intended to offend them. Haji later managed to contact the woman and questioned her when she revealed that the video was done by one APJ Abdul Razak. Razak who too was present, reportedly told Haji that he did so to defame him. He also allegedly threatened to make the video public through social sites and media unless he was paid Rs 10 lakhs.
Haji immediately brought the matter to the notice of senior police officials and even complained to the Sampya Rural police who have now registered cases against the two accused.
The accused are absconding and the police have launched a manhunt for them.
