Assam youth murdered in Udupi; three accused absconding
Udupi, Jul 7: A youth from Assam was found murdered in Madumane Estate near Moorkai under the limits of Brahmavar police station in Udupi district on Monday. The youth has been identified as Mahendraraj Bonsi (22) from Assam.
Pinpointing the accused as Nayana Das, Sukleshwar Saronia and Jayanth Das, the police are conducting an investigation. Currently, the three accused are said to be absconding.
The deceased had been employed in Mandarthi jackfruit processing factory earlier. It is said that the accused had made a phone call to Mahendra on the night of July 5 and threatened him.
To enquire on this matter, Mahendra made his way to Madumane Estate on Monday afternoon along with his friends Mradul Saronia, Poolan Burman and Milan Burman.
It is alleged that the three accused brutally assaulted Mahendra with a sword, slashing his back and forehead. Grievously injured, he was admitted to the Brahmavar government hospital where he passed away the same afternoon.
The Brahmavar police have registered a murder case against the three accused, and are investigating the case.
