Youth kills friend for 100, nabbed in Ahmedabad
AHMEDABAD: A youth, Ajay Vasava, was arrested by a team of cops on Monday for the murder of his friend, Vikram Gaur. The accused had been on the run for over a year.
Acting on a tip-off striking squad of joint commissioner of police (sector 2) on Monday arrested Vasava for killing Gaur over a petty dispute over payment of Rs 100. According to police Vasava was nabbed from Trikampura Patiya in Vatva.
According to police sources the friends started quarrelling in 2014 when Gaur borrowed Rs 100 from Vasava on some pretext. He however failed to return the money despite repeated requests of the accused. When all his appeals failed to evoke any response, Vasava took Gaur along with him on the pretext of attending a religious function at his uncle’s house.
On the way the two youths had a heated exchange and matters took a turn for the worse when they fought. Vasava took off his shirt during the scuffle and then used it to strangle Gaur to death. He then dragged Gaur’s body and threw it into a nearby well. Later, a murder complaint had been registered at the Vatva police station. “On Monday we arrested Vasava and handed him over to Vatva police for further investigation,” said police sub-inspector HV Sisara of the striking force.
