Gurgaon woman held captive, raped by two men
GURGAON: Police on Saturday rescued a woman who had gone missing for around 40 days. When produced in court, she revealed that she had been raped by two men on different occasions and was kept captive by one of them for a month. A case of rape has been registered.
According to police, the woman’s husband had filed a complaint with Sector 5 police station on May 28, in which he stated that his 22-year-old wife had been missing for a couple of days. Following this, an FIR had been lodged.
On Saturday, police traced the woman to Narnaul in Mahendergarh district. They produced her in court to record her confessions and statements under CrPC 164, during which she stated that she had been raped by two men on different occasions.
The first accused is her neighbour Rajpal, who hails from Hansi in Hisar district. Rajpal allegedly raped her when she was alone at home, and threatened to kill her husband if she protested or told anyone about it.
When he repeated the act, the woman ran away from her house to the Sheetla Mata temple in old Gurgaon. There she met Praveen, a Narnaul resident, who promised to help her and took her to Narnaul. The woman alleged that after reaching Narnaul, Praveen locked her in a room and raped her.
She said Praveen burnt her phone and kept her captive for a month. She, however, managed to escape on Friday and called her husband, who informed the police.
