Five criminals arrested in Jamui
MUNGER: Police arrested five members of a gang of criminals including a young girl on Thursday from a village in Jamui district. Confirming the report, Jamui SP Jayant Kant said two country-made loaded pistols besides five mobile sets and three stolen new motorcycles were recovered from their hideouts.
Jhajha police on a tip-off that some criminals had assembled at a place, conducted raid at their hideout inside the cowshed of Sunit Yadav, resident of village Jogia Tilha under Jhajha police station, and arrested them. The arrested youths included Sanjay Pandit, 28, resident of village Chirauta under Belhar police station in Banka district, Rajiv Yadav, 23,resident of village Piparia Lakshmipur under Jamui district, Jeewan Yadav, 20, and Baijnath Yadav, 30, both residents of Chirayadih under Belhar police station in Banka district besides Baby Kumari,18, daughter of Jagdish Ram, resident of a village under Belhar police station in Banka district.
The police said Sunit Yadav, who had provided shelter to the gang, however, managed to escape before police reached there. Police seized the firearms, cellphones and motorbikes.
