66-year-old man, son kill youth in Delhi
NEW DELHI: A 66-year-old man and his son hacked a youth to death with a chopper for allegedly having an affair with his granddaughter in outer Delhi’s Begumpur village on Wednesday night. The body of the youth was found in a field near Barwala Road.
“Upon interrogation, the men confessed having committed the murder. A case under Section 302 IPC has been registered against them,” DCP, Outer, Vikramjit Singh, said.
Sushil Kumar (22) worked as a labourer in a local farm. Investigations revealed that he had an argument with his neighbours over a girl. However, the family of the girl kept denying her involvement. Police said several teams were formed to track down the killers.
During investigations, it was found that Sushil had developed intimacy with a girl in the neighbourhood. But the girl’s family objected to their friendship and threatened Sushil with dire consequences. When he refused to listen to them, the girl’s father, Bharat Singh Kataria, decided to murder him.
On Friday, Bharat and his father Mahender entered Sushil’s house and found him asleep. They picked up an axe and hacked him to death. Then they picked up the body and stuffed it into their car.
The body was dumped on the field and made to look as if the victim had been robbed. Bharat then cleaned the car and threw away Sushil’s bloodstained clothes. The two returned and later joined Sushil’s family in mourning his death.
