Woman goes missing after rape charge
“She might have gone to her hometown Mathura fearing her identity will be disclosed after media reports. Her statement has been recorded and her medical examination has been done. The accused is already in custody,” said Sector 49 SHO Girender Pal Singh. The 25-year-old woman, according to police, was forced to look for a job since her husband’s arrest last year.
The man she has accused of raping her, Satyaveer Singh, has a medical store near her house in Noida and he had promised to get her a job when she sought his help. According to the woman’s complaint, Satyaveer took her in a car to the premises of company in Barola on June 5.
Finding the gates shut, Satyaveer drove to his house nearby and raped her at gunpoint.
The woman then approached the Sector 49 police station to lodge a complaint but an FIR was registered only on June 21 after she met Gautam Budh Nagar SSP Preetinder Singh. Police have not been able to find the gun used in the crime.
“We have not recovered the weapon and are yet to establish whether or not it was licensed one,” added the SHO.
