Engineer’s suicide: Madras HC relaxes bail conditions of former Tamil Nadu minister
MADURAI: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Tuesday relaxed bail conditions of former Tamil Nadu agriculture minister S S (Agri) Krishnamoorthy, who is an accused in a case relating to the suicide of senior agriculture engineer S Muthukumarasamy.
The high court on June 3 granted conditional bail to him. According to the bail conditions, Krishnamoorthy, the Kalasapakkam MLA, should daily sign at the office of the deputy superintendent office, CB-CID, Chennai metro unit II, till further orders of the court.
Krishnamoorthy filed a petition in the court seeking to relax the bail conditions.
When his petition came up for hearing before Justice K Kalyanasundaram on Tuesday, his side said the petitioner had followed the conditions and prayed to relax them.
The judge accepted the request.
Muthukumarasamy committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at Thatchanallur on February 20 as he was allegedly under pressure from the former agriculture minister and his associates over the appointments of seven drivers in Tirunelveli.
