Man found dead, cops suspect brawl
NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man was found dead in southwest Delhi’s Delhi Cantt area on Saturday morning. Police said that the man was in an inebriated condition when he died.
According to police officials, the victim has been identified as Babulal. Officers investigating the matter suspect he may have been killed because of personal enmity.
Babulal lived with his sister and brother-in-law in Nangal area. Locals found Babulal lying on the ground in a lane next to his house on Saturday morning, police said. His family was informed, who in turn, called up the police. When Babulal’s family members brought him home, they noticed blood coming out of his neck.
According to police, his throat had been slit with a sharp object. Officials suspect he may have been killed after engaging in a brawl or because of personal enmity . Efforts are on to identify the accused and over 30 people living in the area have already been questioned, police said.
Babulal’s body was handed over to his family members after the postmortem.
Police officers have registered a case of murder against unknown persons under Section 302 of the IPC.
