Five arrested for killing worker
Construction worker Nanha (25) from Madhya Pradesh, was picked up from his house by three of his neighbours on June 15. Nanha’s wife Janki told police he never returned.
Nanha’s body was fished out of a Ramgarh pond by a villager around 10am on Friday. A rope was found tied around his waist and there were injuries on his head. Postmortem reports confirmed he had been murdered.
The police investigation revealed Nanha had a fight with another construction worker Charandas a few days ago. On June 15, Charandas and two friends Hiralal and Shyamlal, all construction labourers, visited Nanha’s house and asked him to accompany them to work. They took him to a secluded place and killed him by hitting him with a heavy object. They later threw the body in the pond with the help of two other construction workers, Ratiram and Lalluram.
“The arrested have been booked under Sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and 120b (criminal conspiracy). They were produced in a city court on Sunday and were remanded in judicial custody for 14 days,” Parveen Malik, SHO Badshapur police station, said.
