Cops seek help of External Affairs Ministry to bring back Bannanje Raja
Mangaluru : With dreaded gangster Bannanje Raja in the custody of the state police in Morocco, reports state that it may taken another 40 days for the cops to get him back to India. Meanwhile, Police Department is continuing its efforts and would try to send a proposal through External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to the Morocco Government to hand over Bannanje Raja to them.
The Moroccan police have already attached the three fake passports in possession of Bannanje Raj who was in hiding in Morocco in the name of Kumara Raja Hemanth Hegde. It is also learnt that he had changed his looks through a plastic surgery. Sources have also revealed that Bannanje Raja has agreed to co-operate in the investigation into all cases in which he was involved.
Bannanje Raja who had secured a BA degree form Poorna Prajna College in Udupi in the ‘90s was known for his rowdyism in the college days itself and very soon entered the criminal world.
He has over 40 cases against him in Mangaluru, Bengaluru and other places. At the age of 20 he was named the prime accused in the Kushal Shety case. Though he was acquitted in the case, a rowdy sheet was then opened against him in Malpe police station of Udupi.
