FIR against Sirsaganj MLA’s son for casteist remarks
FIROZABAD: An FIR has been registered against Vijay Pratap alias Chhotu, son of Sirsaganj MLA, Hariom Yadav, for allegedly making a casteist remark and intimidating Nagla Khangar block president.
According to information, an argument broke out between the two parties over a political issue recently. Following which, Vijay allegedly beat up block president Gaya Prasad Somesh and made casteist remarks against him. Subsequently, Somesh filed an FIR with the police on Sunday.
“The complaint has been registered under sections 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation), besides relevant sections of SC/ST Act against the accused. No arrest has been made so far,” a police officer said.
Hariom belongs to the Samajwadi Party, and his son Vijay has been representing the leader in his constituency.
Hariom denied the allegation leveled against his son. “The case is a conspiracy against my son and is politically motivated. Truth will come out after the investigation.”
