Congress ex-MLA thrashes kids and teacher in school, held

NEW DELHI: Former Congress MLA from outer Delhi’s Sultanpur Majra constituency, Jai Kishan was arrested for brutally beating up a group of students, and a teacher inside a private school. Kishan was angry that they attended a talent competition held in Hyderabad without his permission.

Police said that the former MLA is the proprietor of the school and used to take classes for senior students.

The incident was reported from R D Public school on Friday. The children said that Kishan beat them up for failing to come for classes, and made them stand outside in the sun to await a “decision”.

Parents alleged that some children sustained deep cuts on their hands and legs. When the music teacher, Abhishek, who had accompanied the students tried to justify, Kishan punched him on the face and left him bleeding.

Angered, they protested against Jai Kishan and blocked the Sultanpur Majra main road demanding action against him.

Upon interrogation, Kishan first claimed that the students started arguing when he tried explaining the school’s attendance criteria. Later he admitted to caning them. He was arrested and a case under Section 323 IPC (assault) and Section 341 (wrongful confinement) was registered against him.

The school issued a clarification in the evening saying that there was a confusion between the school management and the students since the music teacher had come back before the children.
