The movement for Human Rights in India is the second independence movement of the country.
This blog is intended to be an introduction to human rights activities and to the People’s Union For Civil Liberties in mangalore, an All India Organization started by Lok Nayak Jayaprkash Narayan during the emergency clamped by the former Prime minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi in the year 1975.
This blog will speak on the mandate and working of PUCL and inform its readers on the condition of human rights organizations in the country and the threats under which they function. These organizational details are not only meant for the members of the PUCL but also for the general public. This will also nail the lie by interested parties that these organizations are foreign funded.
